Dr. Antonie Schmiz
Born 1980, studies in geography, sociology and political sciences at Universität Bremen and Freie Universität Berlin. Thesis on remittances of former Vietnamese contract workers in Germany. PhD (Dr. rer. pol.) at Universität Bremen in 2010 on Vietnamese migrants´ transnational networks between Berlin and Vietnam (published at Transcript, 2011 "Transnationalität als Ressource?") focussing on economic networks of Vietnamese entrepreneurs. Expert on ethnic economies / migrant entrepreneuship and on the topic of "migration and development". Current research on migration and urban development with a focus on urban governance in the field of ethnic market places.
