Dr. Roswitha Breckner
Born 1959 in Medias / Romania; 1972 migration to the Federal Republic of Germany; 1990 - 1995 Lecturer at the Technical University of Berlin, Institute of Sociology; 2001 PhD with a thesis on "Living in polarised worlds. The biographical meaning of migration in the field of European East-West migration during the Cold War; 1996-2000 freelance and part-time involvement in different projects, specially in the EU-project "Social Strategies in Risk Societies" (SOSTRIS) with the focus on Interpretive and biographical methods, sociology of migration and social policy; teaching at different Universities; 2001 - 2004 Assistant Professor at the University of Economy and Business Administration in Vienna, Institute of General Sociology, 2004 - 2010 Assistant Professor at the Vienna University, Institute of Sociology.
