Rainer Ohliger
Born in 1967, Rainer Ohliger is an historian and social scientist. His main realms of research and interest are historical and international migration, inter-ethnical relations as well as history and memory in societies of immigration. He studied history, business administration and demography at the Albert-Ludwigs-Universität Freiburg and at the University of Michigan, Ann Arbor. From 1995 to 2004 he was research assistant at the Humboldt University of Berlin (social sciences). Between 2004 and 2007 Rainer served as European Associate Director of Humanity in Action, Inc. From 2007 to 2012 project manager of the Network Migration in Europe. He was a founding member of the Network Migration in Europe e.V. in 2001, ever since he has been in the organization’s board of directors.
